MCDS Implements International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the High School

October 6, 2008: Last spring, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) accredited Madison Country Day School as Dane County region’s first International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma high school. The IB Diploma Programme is now offered to students in 11th and 12th grade at Madison Country Day School.

More than 2,200 schools throughout 126 countries offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma, with Madison Country Day School becoming the eleventh IB World School in Wisconsin. The IB Programme integrates six curricular subject areas including experimental sciences, history of individuals and societies, mathematics and computer sciences, the arts, a second language and literature.

Madison Country Day’s high school opened in 2003, graduating its first senior class in 2007 with a 100 percent rate of college placement.


Ecuadorian Students Visit MCDS

October 1, 2008: Madison Country Day School will welcome 6 exchange students from Ecuador for a two week stay in the Madison area.

The Ecuador exchange students and their chaperone will arrive in Madison on Tuesday, October 21st and will have an opportunity to attend classes at Madison Country Day School, speak with students at all grade levels, attend social events, and enjoy day-long field trips.
